Tuesday, January 16, 2007 benny parsons 1941 - 2007  He was the 1973 Winston Cup Champion, the Daytona 500 winner in 1975, but to me he was always "Buffet Benny," a true friend of the fans who on every broadcast made you feel like he was sitting right next to you, offering some of North Carolina's best fried chicken during the commercials. I never met Benny Parsons, but somehow I always felt like he knew me. For that, I will miss him all the more.
